LEDs - environmentally friendly

Giving the green light on sustainability

Energy consumption at the root of environmental concerns as the majority of green house gases come from power stations. Using efficient light sources is key to conservation and sustainability.

Reducing environmental impact

49% of the electricity in the US is produced from coal fired power plants. Besides CO2, these power plants emit hazardous substances including mercury, nitrous oxides, sulphur oxides, and particulates. Using LEDs for lighting means using less electricity, and that means less of these substances contaminating our environment.

Waste reduction

LED's longer life-cycle reduces waste and energy associated with repair and replacement that is typical of neon and incandescent lighting.

Eco-friendly materials

illumivision utilizes lead-free solder in order to minimize the effects on the environment when it comes time to recycle our fixtures (10-12 years away). No mercury is used in the manufacture of illumivision LED fixtures.

Less heat = less energy consumption

LED lighting produces minimal heat which reduces load on building air conditioning systems.

LEDs save energy and the environment

  • Less energy consumption
  • Less heat
  • Fewer hazardous materials
  • Longer life-cycle
